Fireworks

Some people who think they know everything

know nothing at all.

Some people who don’t speak up

know more than they could ever say.

Loud mouths make the most noise

like fireworks bursting in the night.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

And like a child afraid of the sound

I cover my ears so I don’t have to hear:

I know this…BOOM!

You’re wrong about this…BOOM!

And in my head; fireworks are lighting up the sky.

BOOM! How much can you take?

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Before you break.

Before you burst like a firework with a long fuse.

Your mouth pops off…BOOM!

And the fireworks you display,

puts the last hurrah of their fireworks to shame.
